We have reserved rooms for 80 people until 90 days before the wedding. This means people can book at Waimea Plantation Cottages, knowing they can get a room up until 5/25. You'd just tell them you're with the Joslyn/Konstantelos wedding party. Unfortunately, they don't give room discounts for groups because nearly all of their business is in groups -- weddings primarily. If anyone is in the travel business, they give pretty good discounts, fyi. I know Jeff Haseltine, Dan Gentle and Houman all work in the travel biz and have gotten deals for themselves.
The room rates and information on the resort can be found at: www.waimeaplantationcottages.com
I'M SUPPOSED TO HEAR ABOUT POSSIBLE PREFERRED ROOM RATES IN COMING DAYS...
Please review the details of our phone conversation today below: Estimated 90 guests - Some island residents and others who may not choose to stay here in Waimea. 1-3 Bedroom Cottages are holding from Thursday, July 23, 2009 to Sunday, July 26, 2009. Deposit Policy - 2 night deposit per room upon booking for all reservations. Cancellation Policy - 30 days prior to arrival date for 1-3 bedroom cottages. Specialty homes such as the Manager's cottage and the 3 bedroom ocean front cottage has a cancellation policy of 90 days prior to arrival date. We will do our best to room everyone in your party as close to the Manager's cottage as possible. I will be going over the room rates with the Rooms Division Manager and send you a list of cottage categories with rates tomorrow.
